Find the following:
200 and 400 Grit Sandpaper
Fine Grit Steel wool.
use the 200 grit to rip off the remainder of the paint and get rid of the texture.
Wet down the 400 w/ water, and "wet sand" the trim.
Use the steel wool to remove the final light scratching left by the sandpaper. (this is optional, you may find the 400 grit to be fine enough.)
It is a bit of a time consuming process, but believe me, the results are worth it.
And be careful when sanding not to apply too much pressure, you risk bending the trim pieces.
