Default Read carefully, though. No software is included in that kit, so you're paying for a OBD-II

cable basically.

"VAG EEPROM Programmer is much simpler than TachoPro. It runs in Windows (9x-XP) and is in plain english. It will work with the TachoPro interface."

Default Let me know if you find a working version of VAG EEPROM Programmer

and I'll do the same for you. I found some on a download site and have asked our company IT guy to assess them for virus/malware.

Default actually my friend's A4 with 90k miles, he's always left it on and never turned it off

and it's still going strong. Maybe the key is to not turn it on/off so many times? Who knows...this is one of those Audi mystery bugs/glitches. I personally think that climate and garage parking the car are probably best bets to keep it working (hot weather related).
