amp and sub cut out when i turn it up
i have a 96 2.8 with a bose system and i spliced into the wires in the back for the high low converter for the amp and it works fine when the radio is low but when i turn up the volume the bass cuts out.
any ideas? could i have wired it wrong?
o and i have has two different amps and subs in there so i know its not those.

well, watch it and look for a little red light
also, there is an overload protection switch...doubt it though. check your ground. What ga. wire are you using for that size amp? power should be *at least* 4ga., ground wire should ALWAYS be big or bigger than your power attached to a very good/solid location.

hmmm if the 96 bose is anything like the symphony
hi-low converter might be better off coming from the front speakers. If you are using the rear you might to convert the speaker wire to RCA's before the rear amp. This is speaking from knowledge from a 01 A4. The rears are line outs from the HU and the speakers are powered by an Amp. The rears are also pretty low ohms, like 1.5 ohms so that might cause a problem.
