I just put in Royal Purple in my rear diff after 96500 miles, noticed I lost one cup of oil. Man those drain & fill plug were tuff to get off! Well I am simply amazed how much smoother the ride is with new gear oil! So I was doing some further research and came across this. ..and wonder if I should replace the Royal Purple for Amsoil!

Have you guys seen this gear oil comparison?

most of my family's cars runs with amsoil, trucks f350, (sold) chevy surburban engine, tranny, rear diff, all amsoil. and everyone notices a huge difference with it, smoother, longer lasting, i havent changed the tranny, rear diff oil in my audi but planning to do it soon,

I think amsoil is great stuff
Royal Purple isn't worth any more than any other good gear oil but it's not bad and certainly not worth dumping.

Just remember for next time.
FYI, I put Royal Purple in my trans and it's fine. Next time i'll use some M1 gear oil.

That's what I was thinking. .however in the White Paper the corrosion test with soft metals shows Royal Purple caused severe corrosion. ..ranked 13/14 with pictures.

I'm gonna go Mobil 1, my local Wal-mart has it at a cheap price and it was ranked #2.
