Amsoil Synthetic 5W-40 European Engine Oil (AFL) specifically meets Volkswagen 501.01, 502.00, 505.00, with HTHS (cP) (ASTM D-4683) of 4.2

AMSOIL High Performance Synthetic 10W-40 Motor Oil (AMO) has a High Temperature/High Shear @ 150°C and 1.0 X 106 s-1, cP (ASTM D-4683), cP of 4.3

AMSOIL High Performance Synthetic 20W-50 Motor Oil (ARO) has a High Temperature/High Shear @ 150°C and 1.0 X 106 s-1, cP (ASTM D 4683), cP of 4.9

AMSOIL Series 2000 Synthetic 0W-30 Motor Oil (TSO) just misses the VW 502 rating of 3.5: High Temperature/High Shear Viscosity cP, X°C, X s-1 (ASTM D-4683) is 3.4

AMSOIL Series 2000 Synthetic 20W-50 Racing Oil (TRO) meets VW 501.01 &amp; 505: High Temperature/High Shear @ 150°C and 1.0 X 106 s-1 , cP (ASTM D-4683) of 5.1

AMSOIL Series 3000 Synthetic 5W-30 Heavy-Duty Diesel Oil (HDD) meets VW 501.01, 502.00, 503.00, 505.00, 506.00: High Temperature/High Shear Viscosity, cP, 150°C, 1.0 x 106 s-1 (ASTM D-4683) of &gt;3.5

Default Based upon....?

Not saying you're wrong, but just wondering what you're basing that on given that 502 was specifically approved for the 1.8T engine, at least according to the July, 2004 spec sheet I pasted above.

Default thanks mike! gonna check it out now, got almost 5k on my m1 0w40 right now...

any way to extract some of the oil w/o buying that extractor do-jobby, not that i care about spending the $35 on the tool, i just dont see myself ever using it again...
