I have an OEM airbox with a K&N filter and a Stebro stainless exhaust. I was wondering if a chip will provide noticeable HP gains versus the cost.

the fuel ration mapping was changed and you will notice throttle response at mid to high rpm.

since you have an exhaust, you should consider a cone air intake, it will decrease the sound of your exhaust but you can feel the car can finally breath smoothly.

unless you want to s/c the car, otherwise, spend it on handling

2.8 with Wett. Swears by it. Even though minimal hp increase, the idle is rock solid now, and even improved mileage by 1-2 miles per gallon.

I've kicked that idea around also...my exhaust is pretty loud in 3rd gear in the 3K rmp range. I was sticking to 'OEM' mods until my warranty is up next March....

heck, I need an S4 to hang with my two brothers...00M5 and 98540 chipped!

voiding of warranty didn't/don't seem worth the upgrade for us 2.8's. My 2cents.

he chipped with TAP. he still has the chipped ECU (I bet he'll sell it to you, he drives a 1.8T now). He took it out of the car after a month because it pinged so bad. He tried to resolve the issue with TAP, they were not helpful.

If you search for reviews, many have said GIAC's chip gives about 10 hp, plus flattens the powerband between 3000-4000.

I don't trust TAP's chip. They claim 18 hp, which smells of the dung of a male cow.
