Default Filters are filters. PepBoys Proline are good Purolators. STPs are fine as well. oems offer extended

drain up to 30kkm/2 years as stamped on them. However, there is no compelling reason for using anything besides a basic filter up the 10-12 thousand mile range, which is more than we usually do anyway.

You see, motor oil is taxed heavily in Europe, synth oil is easy $25-$30 a litre, so extended drains are the norm. Here, I get a jug of Pennzoil plus a nice filter and am in business for 6000 miles for $10 bucks.

A "premium" silcone ADBV is the only meaningful feature of a premium filter, but it's really just a luxury. Sometimes I prefer them in winter if I have a choice. Otherwise, a cheap butyl one is fine. Most oil sale specials at stores are now packaged as filter+oil so it's important to know your options.

This to say, there has NOT been a correlation made between fine filtering / beta ratios and actual engine wear rates. Fark, I drain and re-use filters, they get better with age. (true)

Default Bonks one's self in head. 'void all the Israeli air filters. They are dreadfully constructed.

I shopped for the Honda and some brands were the same Israeli junk. Normally I like the red foam edge on the Frams, but they did not have that for my app, rather a tiny twisted rubber thing I guess they consider a gasket. I ended up with a Mann, much betterer.
