Default Where did you hear they make more power? Their fuel delivery system is inferior.

W/O fuel system mods, the chips are making less power.

Default I thought Garrett was claiming 217hp, 270 ft/lbs without fuel system mods. I'm not trying to start

a war either. There have been some heated discussions in the '02 forum

Default Both cooling fans are electric on 2002, A/C compressor is always on. What he said fueling system is

return-less I think.

Default giacusa.com

Chips make 216hp and 270TQ on 2002, while they make around 200hp and 245tq on first gen.

Default Yeah I read that. But when......

APR, MTM, etc all decide that fuel system mods are necessary, I tend to trust them.

Fans would help, plus there is the exhaust that I forgot about but wouldn't AC compressor rob power?

Default agreed. or at least if it were me I wouldn't be rushing to get a GIAC chip until they'd been around

a while without people reporting problems

Default Well, GIAC has been very reputable, I would be surprised to see them screw reputation that took

years to build. Either way I do agree that waiting may be the best choice. I'm just pricing a new car. Still undecided on what I'm getting, but there seem to be some nice deals on 2001 A4s, so I'm trying to figure out what real differences are in 2001 and 2002 models. (power wise)
