Default I would have run oem if the dealer had not given such a crazy high price for the stuff

They wanted over $38 a qt! Thats more then what POrsche charges for their gearbox oil. I'm usually very pro-oem, but in this case, the cost was just very prohibitive. The redline was $8 a quart.

Is this a joke? "recommended for" DOES NOT MEAN "Approved"! I "recommed" Mazola, lol.

Default What would you recommend then? Seriously the RP for what ever reason is not working-->

I know enough about cars and have been around long enough to know when it's not right.... What should I use in your opinion?

I have had over 40 cars/trucks over the years and never seen such a noticeable change in swapping good oil for new good oil.

I am a little stumped. I also recall a post stating that RP smelled like Tide detergent---this stuff certainly didn't. Had a fair bit of gear oil smell to me--but WAS rated for *GL4*-GL5..............

Default The difference between GL-4 and GL-5 is additive compatability w/ yellow metals, like bronze syncros

The "grease" smell is the EP/FM sulphur additives. Fine for diffs but corrode yellow metals. A dual-rated fluid like RP and factory-fill (oem) Castrol Syntrax has de-activated sulphur adds, won't corrode yellow metals and smells like Tide. Red Line's seperate GL-4 & GL-5 products are older technology.

Default OMFG... I can't believe I didn't pick up on that! *SERIOUSLY considers dropping whole product line*

WTF?! That is some sh!tty wording... I don't quite know what to think of that.........I'm....... speechless.........

They have great products....... but that is crap if they worded it that way to avoid actually getting the approval. I WILL BE calling them tomorrow with a mouthful. F$cK. GRrrrrr.
