I'm in a 39 month lease agreement, and thinking if I got into a '01 Avant, I would gain:
1 - 17" wheels, new summer rubber
2 - The cargo space I miss from my truck
3 - Maybe I'd get the xenons if I could find them.
4 - just because....

But, I do now know how Audi's lease program works, will they let you trade in the car or provide anything special since you want to stay with Audi but just switch into a new vehicle? Any info. or links appreciated....

... but this would present a big question for me, would I get Santorin Blue again or something new....hmmm.....

the price of the car you want is more expensive like the a6 or s4. not sure how they would go about doing it for an a4. but you should try and sell the car privately and get more unless the dealer is being giving you a decent trade in. i was considering the same thing you were, but it was too much of a hassle for me so i gave up.

also, i was told that you don't get jack for a leased car since it isn't yours.

I checked kbb.com, they said a private sale on my car would be $28k and change! Crazy, I only paid $27,500 for it back in February. Trade in was like $25.5k, but that depends largely on the dealer's attitude.

Oh well....
