I told Bernardsville service I had a chip and they didn't seem to care
In fact, my salesman even told me about the Hoppen chip reseller in Allentown, PA (I forget the name now), but I told him I already had a Wetterauer chip I was planning on putting in. When I go for scheduled maintenance, I just tell them about my chip and say something like "don't replace it" half-jokingly, and they get it. No biggie. The guy who tested out my brakes when I asked him to even came back & said "do you have a chip in that?", to which I replied "yup, you can tell, can't ya?" (an obvious question, but I couldn't think of anything better at the time) and he smiled back and said "oh yeah".
