It is for a show that my fraternity is holding...
So I am not to worried about a real long-lasting protective wax..I just want a deep shine

3M IHG helps give you a wet look, and you could try step 1 and 2 of meguiars deep crystal system along with the gold glass wax as step 3.
if your paint isn't as shiny as you'd like, then just waxing isn't gonna help

from meguiar's...>>>>
"The difference between polish and wax.
Today there is a lot of confusion about the difference between a polish and a wax. Many manufacturers are marketing waxes as "polishes" and the terms have become almost interchangeable.
Professionals know there is a big difference. A polish is more like a paint conditioner that restores valuable oils to the paint, eliminates fine scratches and creates incredible high gloss not possible with waxes. An application of a pure polish should be followed by waxing to protect the shine and extend its life.
Meguiar's is one of the few companies that still offers car owners a true polish. All are non- abrasive and safe for all paints.
If you own a dark-color car, you'll see a dramatic difference if you use a polish. "

I used to detail cars for a summer job, and that's what we used. It did give a good shine, but it doesn't hold up over time. I'm partial to the two step meguiars wax. Deep crstal polish and top coat of carnuba (spelling?) wax. That makes a ridiculous shine, and lasts for a while.

Actually the liquid stuff will give a good shine.
But it doesn't last long at all. And it is a pain in the *** to work with. It is too "sticky" and is susceptible to marks -- fingerprints, the texture from my polishing cloth, etc.
I don't have those problems with the paste wax.
If the paste is really discontinued, I don't know what I'll use. I don't have enough left to do my whole car again. :-(
