Definitely JL(W series) subs, 12s ina SEALED box. Id use an eclipse or Kenwood excelon amp.

Subs can mean many different things to many different people. JL is good for sound quality, W3 is good for bass (Large excursion). There is no right answer. About the best sounding powerful amp is an Esoteric Brand. They are expensive but worth it. Basically, find out what kind of sound you are looking for, and buy the equipment based on that.
