Alright.. check this out..
What would be a better fit for my Audi?
12 inch Infinity Kappa Perfect Double Voice Coil
OR
10 inch Infinity Kappa Perfect Double Voice Coil
I really dont see the difference in the specs..
I will be running an MTX amp, at 650 watts
maybe I be running two.. but what sounds better 12 inch or 10

ummmm..... 12" will hit the lower octaves... 2, 10s will pretty much be like 1, 12 in terms of..
getting to the lower Hz. Depends on which way you wanna go... 10s will hit the higher range of lower octaves.. and 12s will get deeper.. just like 15s will go even lower than 12s.. depends on what you like listening to. that's how you have to decide on where you want to, cause it all depends on the music.

Well it's all about swept volume...
The max SPL the sub will be able to produce will ultimately be limited by a short list of factors.
Sd = (Surface Area)
Xmax = (Excursion Limit)
Vd = (Volumetric Displacement)
Radiation Impedance = (see surface area)
Voice Coil Temp Coefficient
Amplifier Power Output = (see coil temp coeff...all the power in the world is worthless unless you can use it safely)
A 12 woofer offers about 113 sq inches of piston and the 10 inch about 78.5 so you get about 1.43x the surface area from the 12" driver...and the Xmax tends to be higher as well on the larger driver as the surround roll is usually wider. Now in the case of the Kappa perfect IIRC the Voice Coil and Surround are about the same...so electrically they'd handle about the same amount of power I would guess.
The 12 has more swept volume and sees a higher radiation impedance it will always play louder :-/
They're both very good drivers based on the same motor system...the design was done by Jason Wehner he's a good transducer engineer no doubt. We both worked at Harman during the same period if you could get your hands on the driver from the Intermezzo HTS (think that's what it was called) it's a far better transducer...but they would only be selling it as a replacement part.

Oh yeah..beat this (going in over spring break)...
Infiniti Perfect 5.1 5.25" components powered by a RF 200a4 (a little underpowered, but i had the amp from my last car)
2 Perfect 12.1 12" subs powered by a RF 800a2
:-D
Now if i can just find out for sure if the Blaupunkt adaptor will fit my HU I will be good.

sure, why not?
Audi hasn't changed stereos since 2000, and they use the same head unit for bose and non-bose.. its a connection right off the back. i guess you could pull it to be sure.. but as far as I know, it will work fine... although, I've haven't done the upgrade yet on my car, so I have no first hand experience.
