I just got EBT slotted Zimmerman rotors from David and they look really good and they are really heavy!
Do you guys have any tips before I begin changing them? I noticed that the tech section does not have a guide.
Thanks

take wheel off
take clip off of caliper
release and remove 7mm hex key bolts from back of caliper
lift caliper off
pick up the brake pad that jsut fell on the floor.
hang caliper from a zip tie, do not let it dangle by its line.
remove 2 17mm bolts from caliper carrier
remove rotor
replace rotor
reverse procedure.

Like you jokingly said the pads should be fairly loose right? That's what the AUDI mechanic told me as well.
When I installed the mintex, especially the rear I had to hammer them in because they were too thick. Should I remove a little bit of the black paint on the pads so that they sit in place more easily?

never bang anything on your brakes with a hammer or mallet.
I've got a caliper tool (blake 30v has it right now) they are cheap on ebay and sears sells a cheap $10 one.

I do have the caliper tool and I used it too. but the rear pads need to slide on the rotor and set in place before putting the caliper on.
The caliper went on fine; is the pads that had hard time sliding in place on the rotors before putting the caliper on.
I hope this makes it more clear now...

I had a similar problem installing Mintex reds in the rears...I took a file, and filed down a very small amount of metal...just enough that the pads would fit into place without the use of a hammer. Since I had to scrape paint off the backing plate (exposing bare metal), I put a dab of anti-sieze compound around the exposed metal to prevent corrosion. Done.

I used anit-squeel spray on the back of the pads, but they are squeeling like crazy once they heat up. They were a bit big and I had to force them into the carriers, but I thought it was the spray coating that made the fit so tight. Would the squeel be caused by the force fit?
