Default Anybody else have trouble learning the manual trans?

Retraining myself to drive the A4 was tough! I'm used to clutches that catch right off the floor, which doesnt fly in the A4. I was the king of lost revs and driveline lash, but I finally realized that I dont have to floor the clutch to shift gears. Wow, what an ephipany!

Default Glad to see you finally got your car!

I also noticed that you don't have to push the clutch in all the way to shift. Is that bad for the clutch?

The clutch seems to engage at about the same point as my old '78 toyota pick up.

Default My leg got cramps during the first two weeks driving the A4 ..

because the clutch travels much deeper into the foot well, and I didn't realize that I don't have to floor it all the way. Now I know and I kind of like it this way. The only problem now is that at a red light, I have to shift to neutral and let go the clutch, because I can't hold it at the floor for that long.

Default They're all different...

My A4's clutch is closer in feel to my wife's Superboo than it was to my
old Saturn, so switching is easier for me now than with the old car.
