So there I was showing off my car to my cousins from out of town that I haven't seen in years. I had to show them my sunroof which opens or tilts in proportion to the amount the **** is twisted. "Wow, cool!" Then I say check this out to show them my headlight washers. Uh-oh, the headlight washers that pop-up don't work. Yes, my headlights were on. That sucked! Here I am trying to convince them that this is the car to buy, not a Camry. Anybody know what may have caused it or am I missing something here? Thanks in advance.
Sincerely,
Paul C.

P.S. The cool gizmos are only a tiny fraction of the overall greatness of this car.

The 96 model immediately sprayed the headlights when you applied the washer; that was annoying as it created a huge mess on the hood. So with the 97 or 98 model, I forgot which, they installed that you need to hold the washer for >1s to activate the headlight washers. If you want to prevent your hood to be sprayed, just blip the washer repeatedly.
Despite this, I installed a headlight washer cutoff on my 98.5 and have the headlight washers off all the time.

the fluid reservior is very large and has one pickup at the bottom for the windshield washer line... and another pickup above the lower one for the headlight washer line. Your washer fluid level was probably low and there wasn't sufficient fluid to actuate the headlight washers, but there was enough for the windshield.
that's my guess
