I've got some front passenger side suspension noise that happens when driving over several small bumps at lower speeds. It's not a squeaking noise. It's closer to the sound you get if you hit an inflated tire with a hammer. It almost sounds as if something is loose.

Apparently I busted some tiny front control arm rubber bushings, but Audi WANTS to replace all my control arms, costing around a grand. So Im just going to use auto grease for awhile

The noise is VERY faint and can be heard mostly while driving around town in third gear because of less wind noise. On the freeway, if you listen, you can hear it, and you can really hear in when the freeway pavement gets uneven and the tires start bouncing around. My GF and my friends said I was nuts. I posted questions on the board twice and only MarkBradford had suggestions. I initially described it as a marble rattling in a muffled tin can--but very faint.
Anyway, this morning I took the tech out for a ride and after a mile or so he heard it. He said it sounded like the right side of the car (of course, he was sitting on the right-hand side). We couldn't hear it at idle when I revved the engine. It was only apparent when the car was moving. When I accelerated, it got a little louder until it was muffled by the wind (BTW, he played with the side mirrors to make sure it wasn't the wind noise).
He said it might be dryed-out bushings. (At least it doesn't appear to be the engine!) I will post conclusions when I get the car back--it may be awhile. Until then I have this REALLY sporty Civic! :-0

He said the tech injected some grease into a ball joint/bushing or something and that fixed it. Maybe that's it!

San Francisco does have some rough streets, can't remember bottoming out though.
