Anyone done a custom intake on a 2.8 30V?
I'm considering removing the stock airbox, and doing some sort of custom intake. A cone filter somehow attached to the MAF sensor piece or something along those lines.
Has anyone done this?
Are there any caveats to be had in removing the stock airbox? I.e. dtc's thrown. Secondly - as far as performance - is there any sort of gain to be had - In my opinion the stock airbox seems extremely restrictive and more designed about keeping the intake quiet rather than much else. I dont care if the intake sounds like it's supposed too. But was wondering if anyone had done / Considered this.
Best wishes and take care,
George Androulakis

ok, here's a review of the LLtek strut tower brace......
<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/13802/9enginebay_a.jpg"></center><p>yes, it does make a noticable difference, I recommend it.
It stiffens up the chassis a bit, making steering and overall handling a little more crisp, a bit more responsive. Makes the car feel more solid. Nice.
Not a huge difference, but certainly worth doing, looks cool as hell, and it doesn't cost much. And it's gotta be good for the long-term structural integrity of the chassis, especially if you have an aggressive suspension setup.
Some people have had issues with the strut tower brace interfering with their windshield washer nozzles, but I haven't had a problem.
