Audi of North America just called me to see if I would let an engineer take a look at my car. Anyone else?<p>David

Yup.....they are having a specialist come out to look at mine...
but I really don't have the problem any more. It was very noticeable at first, but haven't experienced it in the last few months.

just got a call from my dealer finally acknowledging the problem.
I have been complaining to my dealer for a year about this problem.. Dealer contacted AoA and regional rep a couple times but they kept saying they never heard of the problem. So they wouldnt try to fix it.
Last week when the NHTSA opened the investigation into the problem I called my dealer again. Dealer said region rep was going to be at dealership the next day (for unrelated issue) and he would inquire again for me about the wet braking prob.
Today the dealer called me. The regional rep said he knew about the NHTSA investigation, that there had been a recall in Europe for this problem (thou it does not effect North American cars), and they are offering to install the bigger rotor shields on my car if I want them. The dealer had no estimate how long it was going to take to get the bigger rotor shields but they are on order.
I have no idea if the part about there being a recall in Europe is true, personally I doubt it, but at least progress is starting to be made in getting my car fixed.

This issue really amazes me.......
I'm sure that many Audi engineers in europe drive A4's and have experienced this wet delay and know all about the problem. To have customers bring their cars to the dealers and try to show a rep on a sunny day how bad the brakes are is impossible!
The larger rotor shield part numbers have been available for over 2 years in europe. Audi has always been aware of this problem even though I received the common AoA answer that there are no problems with the A4 brakes......
They are listening when the US government gets involved....why did it take this long? To have one person die for this is rediculous......
Just venting!
