Default Anyone ever dremmel out the stock fins on the lower grill pieces and put RS4 mesh behind 'em?

I've got an RS4 grill and I just don't like the look of that expandable mesh you can buy for the lower grill pieces on ebay. The RS4 mesh is a lot beefier and the expandable mesh is just held in there with zip ties.

I'm thinking of dremmelling out the plastic fins in my stock lower grill pieces- left, right & center and fitting some real RS4 mesh behind the frames.

Anyone ever do this? might look cool, or the frames might need to be sanded a lot to get the spots where the horizontal slats where attached. maybe painted flat black after that too. just curious, thanks.

Default yes...

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/14019/kennyc-main07.jpg"></center><p>I chose the silver expended metal b/c black mesh in front of black background does not show up well.

I dremmeled out the slats and had to use a detail sander to sand all the way down. Then I applied a couple coats of flat back paint.

The project turned out well.

Default well... I don't have the real rs4 grill

mine is actually the gutter mesh from home depot.

Make sure you get the galvinzed version so it won't rust.

Default that would be the kit from ebay right? looks OK but I want real RS4 mesh and...

I want to keep my OEM grill frames. just dremmel out the guts and mount some real RS4 mesh behind them.
Now I just have to find the real mesh.....
I need the OEM kit you use for the OEM RS4 bumper..
