Anyone ever hear of "The Warranty Group"?
Got a mailing from them recently: they will extend the warranty on my 98 A4 for "only" $168.75 for 12 months w/ renewals after that. Does anyone here know about this comonay? Comments? The $168 includes everything (engine, tranny, electrical, suspension, instrumentation, brakes, fuel systems, body components). Need some advice.

Rob, I'd be interested in the specifics of this also. I just ckecked on www.warrantybynet.com...
and I was quoted over $1000 for 2 year/30k coverage. The coverage and service seem great, but if I can find a better price for a similar service, I'd be interested. $168 for the year sounds too good to be true. Did they mention anything about mileage allowed during the coverage? Might want to read the fine print...
Thanks,
Thanks,

More info...
They are in Mobile, AL. Phone number: (800) 242-5564. There's nothing in the piece of paer I have that states about mileage, just a line that reads "And we can cover your vehicle as long as it currently has less than 100,000 miles!" and another line that states "...you must provide reasonable mainteneance and use the vhicle in the manner for which it was designed>" Hmmmmm.
Call if you wnat to. Post here any info. PS: also has a $25 deductible. Sounds almost too good to be true. No website either. But here's some info from the BBB site in Mobile:
THE WARRANTY GROUP has been the subject of customer complaints registered with the Better Business Bureau of South Alabama, Inc., primarily concerning disputes regarding fulfillment of the service contract with regards to claims that have been filed and misunderstanding of contract provisions with reference to covered repairs and/or parts. THE WARRANTY GROUP has cooperated with the BBB by responding to all customer matters forwarded to its attention by the Bureau. In response, THE WARRANTY GROUP has provided explanatory information clarifying provisions of its contract with the customer as to why a claim had been denied. In other instances, the firm has offered adjustments in instances the firm deemed an adjustment to be warranted.
In a meeting with the Better Business Bureau on October 11, 2000, management of the subject firm provided information to the Bureau regarding efforts that have been made and proposed plans to be implemented by the company to improve customer service and minimize customer complaints.
