Default Whats wrong with eurospec? I have heard people say that several times, but no details?

I thought about buying a eurospec motor but everyone seems to think they have issues.

Default A few people had issues... so the whole forum harps them down.

They are fine imo, and I plan on buying one of their cranks.

Default It's rare you'd find that.

Because that platform is a waste of time to make power compared to the 1.8 and 2.7.

I'd be willing to bet the fastest S/C 2.8 A4 hasn't even trapped higher than 110mph.

Default I've personally never had any experience with them, But for the money of a 2.8 long block, I

was able to built the motor the way I wanted with the parts I wanted, and I know it was done right.

There very well may be nothing wrong with their products, but I have heard of catastrophic failures of their engines including valves falling into combustion chambers, bearing problems, etc...

When researching for my project I was told that they had changed their QC methods since having those issues, and that they were reliable, but I didnt want to risk it.

Default I don't think any G2 owners bothered to do quarter mile

The G2s have most of their power at the top, not that much torque, not great for the strip but pretty good for track. FWIW, my G1 was just the opposite, plenty of low end torque but not as much hp as a G2. I dynoed 237 hp and 261 ft/lbs @wheels at my last dyno. I never did a full 1/4 mile run at the strip, but my 0-60 times were in low 5 sec range.
