Default man... that's something new about my car. I never knew about the pan bolt washer...

... I've always read about people who change their own oil on this forum, but fail to explain the pan bolt washer. Is the car that costly to maintain? I mean, it isn't hard to just unscrew that cork on the bottom to drain the oil then pop in a few new quarts. Why the hell should the pan need a new washer? BTW, It's been 200 miles after the oil change, and i've lost very little. So far no new drops today.

And about parking my car outside, Yeah right, I live in Jamaica, Queens. It'll be gone before I can press my remote to re-arm my a4. =)

I've been using the same brass washer/seal for the past 9 years on my Scirocco...no leaks...

With the washer, you get better assurance against leaks. And it's only $0.60 for one. Buy 20

OK, im on clairparts.com, Im looking at the Oil pan O ring... is that what Im suppose to get?

you dont have to order it.. Go down to you local European service shop and ask them for it. Pick up 5 or so , save yourself 4 trips for less than 3 bucks. Your gas $ pocket will thank you for it.;]
