Default Anyone had their ignition coil replaced?

My car is misfiring and upon investigation it seems like I have a bad ignition coil.

Yesterday I had 2 DTCs:
1. Random misfire
2. Cyl #3 misfire

What I did to isolate the problem is to replace all the spark plugs(for some reason all of them have dark brown insulators and seems to be carbon fouled, maybe the BPV leak I had caused the car to run rich) and then swapped coil #2 with coil #3. Now it seems like my hunch is right. I got the following DTCs today after the old ones were erased:

1. Random misfire
2. Cyl #2 misfire

So it seems like the coil currently in cyl#2 is bad. What is strange is it only happens under heavy acceleration and in higher rpms. Did anyone else had their coils replaced? If so did your car misfire all the time or only under WOT? Also does anyone happen to know the price of one of those coils? TIA

Default Well I dunno if you remember my debocle...I went through

1 coil..at about 2000~3000 miles, car shook violently...check engine light was flashing...the coil was DEAD. They replaced that coil...and 2 weeks later another one died, at which point I demanded they take all 4 out...including the new one and replace them with units from a different lot. Since then I've had no problems...

Audi was using the Beru ignition coils on the older cars...these were bolted in place. The 00 might...but the 01 does use units from Bremi which I'm not fond of...these simply plug in...the clip tightly, but it's nothing like being bolted down...I doubt this had little to do with the failure...just a gripe.

James R.

Default Nah 99.5 would be the best had it gotten the newer radio

BTW - Good lord your car is slammed...is the back lower than the front? :-)
