Default Anyone had their instrument cluster replaced because of fading pixels in the multifunction display..

... I've noticed that a column of pixels in the multifunction display is not working like the rest of the display. I will show the dealer and hopefully they will replace the cluster. I just wondered if this is a common problem?

Default Yep

On my fourth third display right now, and am waiting for it to be replaced. Dealer has ordered it (supposedly) and I should have it in a week or so. He claims they've been re-done, so I shouldn't have this problem anymore. I sure hope not, as I'm way out of warranty already.

Had my gauge cluster replaced under warranty for my 2000 A4. Same symptoms as yours.

Default Similar prob with cabin temp display on '98

Some of the number bars are missing on my cabin temp display below the radio. I think I have to replace the whole unit to fix this. Anyone know the cheapest most realistic way to do this? For now, I just tell curious passengers that the display is in the German numeric system

Default I had mine replaced at 20k miles...

...dealer did it as warranty service. should not be a problem if it's obvious.
