the display on mine seems to be fading out as the outside temperature increases, when temps are cold it is fine. I've heard that the whole instrument cluster must be replaced as a component.

Assuming that this can be done under warranty, can I add, some aluminum colored guage faces to the new one, or can I upgrade to the newer '01 cluster?

a few owners are trying to write a letter to AOA to see if they'll replace these defective clusters even if they are slightly out of warranty. this is a very common problem, and it is sure hurting resale values.
