I have a 97 A4 and the drivers side mirror has developed some flaws in the mirror. It kinda looks like a rust color under the first layer of glass near the edge of the mirror. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem? If so how much are replacement lenses and is it difficult to DIY?
Thanks

The window switches in my drivers side door are switched (drivers side button lowers passengers window), I have this odd honking/whistling sound at about 3200 RPMs, only when the car is cold, and the window problem. If they tell me what it is to fix, ill let you know.

Use the mirror switch to rotate the mirror where the mirror edge closest to the side window comes out the furthest. Put down the side window. Place a ruler thin object behind the mirror at that gap and the mirror housing. Pry it out! It just pops out. It may seem difficult to remove when prying, but just do it quickly (the mirror won't crack). Remove the 2 wire connectors and put them back on the new mirror terminals. Push (center of mirror only) the new mirror back on. It snaps in place. BINGO! You're done. Try it a few times with the old mirror. If you break it(you shouldn't) you can go get a new one and intall it with ease. It's really about a 2 minute job after you do one. I believe the driver side (not self dimming) is about $70. The self dimming are ultra-expensive!
