I emailed Bernardsville a few weeks ago and earlier this week. Finally, they just got back to me. I emailed 10 different dealers and they were the last to get back to me. JD located what I like, but when we flat out asked four different times, to test drive and see what the Xenon lights while driving in the dark, the guy stone-walled my wife and I. And basically had no intention of letting me drive a vehicle.

I just want to make sure if I buy a car at one place, I won't get hassled when I take it to another for service.

Would you do me a favor and give me the salesman's name...I worked there for 20 years (business mgr) and would like to pass this on to the sales manager..That is not the way they usually work and the sales rep should be corrected....I don't need your name...thanks

Default Just bought at Audi of Mendham....(more)

It's a new store, a sister for Audi of Bernardsville...a lot nicer and much larger, though.

Bernardsville has been on the slide lately, I just went there to replace my 99.5 A4 (wrecked) and was given a big runaround. Went to Mendham and a new (and very hungry) salesperson named Bonnie went way beyond any other dealer to locate my car.

I tried literally EVERY dealer north of route 78, and even a few south of there, and was given the typical "Buy from our lot because what you want doesn't exist and we know 'cause we looked" speech from all of them. Somehow, Bonnie magically reached into the computer and pulled out my car and it was only about 60 miles away!

Mendham's service department is also a lot better, mainly because they are not nearly as swamped as Bernardsville's little shop (much bigger garage, too).

By the way...I tried Bellavia (on recommendation), the guy told me he'd call back about what he had...he never did. I guess some of these dealers just don't want more business.

Default Chipping

I haven't had mine in for service yet, but when I asked my salesman about chipping, he said that the service department was much more likely to look the other way if the car had been purchased from the dealership as opposed to any nearby competitors.<p>'00 1.8TQS tip

Default The internet is such a wonderful bargaining tool

Yeah, I've heard how wonderful Benardsville is? Would you spent a few extra dollars ($100-200), to buy a vehicle at a particular dealer and feel comfortable having it serviced there without a hassle?

I'm not a big car guy, and probably won't make any big aftermarket changes to my car. I'll probably look into putting in a chip. But, I basically haven't slept that much in the past few weeks, trying to pull out as much dirt and info on the A4 and what options I want. I've contacted the following dealers, let me know what ya think:

-Princeton (Princeton)
-Schneider & Nelson (West Long Branch)
-TSE (Toms River)
-Bell (Rahway)
-DCH (Maplewood)
-Flemington (Flemington)
-Bernardsville (Bernardsville)
-Paul Miller (Parsippany)
-Jack Daniels (Fair Lawn)
