Anyone have a tip chip......thoughts on it?

It's great! I had the tip chip and supercharger installed on my car at the same time...the tip chip was the first thing I noticed different about the car when I first drove off from the mechanic's. Of course, I noticed the supercharger after driving it for awhile, but the tip chip makes a big difference in how the car drives.
You know how the car goes off into la-la land for about 1 full second between gears? The engine's not revving, you're not accelerating, nothing's happening...That goes away after you get the tip chip. You get nice, quick shifts, but they're not harsh at all. And I think that's about all it does. I haven't noticed any other differences in how the car drives, just that it now takes about 1/4 second to shift instead of 1 full second. Obviously, this will shave at least 1/2 second off your 0-60 time, and the car just feels more like a sporty car, rather than a grandma-soft car. I don't understand why the car doesn't come like this stock...I guess some people prefer a really slow, soft shift maybe.
The price is a couple hundred bucks or so. Check at PES tuning. About the warranty thing, I don't know. I got it after my warranty ran out. But from what I understand, it's not an easy thing for the mechanics to detect, I think because it's a separate computer from the main ECU that gets the tip chip. I don't think it's normal procedure for the mechanic to check the transmission computer ever...but you might want to check with someone else to find out for sure.
good luck!<ul><li><a href="http://www.pes-tuning.com">www.pes-tuning.com</a></li></ul>
