As far as I know, the HITACHI ecu (on the 12v) can't be updated, complete ECU for 800?

Default Sorry, no idea....you might be able to locate the message if you do a search......

....it was posted sometime in the past 3-4 months. I don't recall who the vendor was (if the person even posted the vendor).

For that kind of money, I'd skip it as it won't add much HP anyway.

Default I know TAP has a chip for early '93 90's w/ 12v. it's one of those engines that tuners overlooked...

If you find one, let us know over on the misc. model forum. We've been hungry for one for years. Although, I'm not sure how much hp/accleration gain there would be for a non-turbo engine. Most likely, only a higher rev. limit, which I wouldn't want to put the added strain on my engine since I'm less 1k from hitting the 100k mark even if that is just the break-in period for an Audi.

Default I've got a HITACHI ecu i'm trying to sell, and they are not worth $800.

Yes, the HItachi ECUs are rare and expensive as heck, but not worth $800, more like $600.
