Anyone heard of/experienced 2 layers of window tint?

I'm not as happy about the lvel of tint I bought, but yeah, I looked at it before it went on & OK'd the install, so it's on me (& my wallet) to decide what to do. My options are:
1. Pay to have the weak tint removed & then re-install darker tint, or
2. Just put another layer of tint on TOP of the weak tint layer, which a couple people have told me is easy to do, still looks good, & would obviously be cheaper. I worry about the thickness issue, rubbing, etc., also whether the adhesive might look bad between the two film layers somehow...
Anyone ever done the two layer thing? Opinions?
