Anyone here amazed their original/factory clutch hasn't gone yet? (long)

I could tell soon after I bought the car (couldn't tell on the test drive) that my clutch was badly abused. The clutch acts completely normal when the car is first driven after several hours of down time (overnight). But once my clutch gets a little warm (under normal city driving) then all hell breaks loose. I get clutch stick and slippage in 1-3 gears regardless of driving style. Initial take off's are the worst, I eventually find myself doing 800rpm take offs because any higher than that the clutch engages 'drop' style during graceful (non agressive) launches. On very rare occasions, if I engage the clutch too slowly the entire car will rattle violently until I put the clutch all the way back in to make the shaking stop. It's completely unbearable and quite embarassing when I have passengers. I have plans to upgrade to a stage I or II AWE clutch soon, but my question is, is there any advice out there as 'how' I should be driving in the meantime? And based on what I've said, how many miles might I have left on this clutch before it leaves me stranded somewhere? Thx in advance.

guess the original owner beat the thing up. brakes will probably be the next to go, then gonna go the timing belt/water pump once the certified warranty ends.
Lets see how long the turbo lasts- hopefully it never goes bad, but if it does i'd like it to happen w/in a year and 3 months or 48k miles so audi pays for it.

bought it with original clutch and 60000 miles. I sold it with 150,000 with that same clutch. No detectable slippage. I guess it's very driver dependent. I hope my A4's clutch lasts a good while longer. It's at 91K>
