if they feel like enforcing it. I have gotten asked about it and told them it got knocked off or damaged and hadn't fixed it yet. They are usually cool. I have gotten 2 tickets in DC for it and had to pay, they just left it on my winsheild. Also, they will use it for a reason to pull you over if they want to see if you are drunk or up to something. I had that happen a few times, my friend from high school was actually the cop that pulled me over once, he said I looked suspicious because I was sitting at a closed gas station late at night(putting air in my tires) and he used the no front plate thing to check me out.
