I just had the 15k mi service done on my 2000 1.8T, and it appears the dealer overfilled the oil a bit. On a cold engine, the oil line is about 1/4" above the bend in the dipstick. The first 2 scheduled services were done correctly, but I'm wondering if this amt of overfill is anything to be concerned about, or do I need to drain some out to the exact level it should be just below or right at the bend?

it should be fine, since you should check the oil level 5-10 minutes after a good run, not cold.

Same overfill level after a good run and waiting 15 min. Drained oil to proper level today.
