PIAA and Silblade make silicone wiper blades. There are apparently two main advantages to silicone over rubber: 1) silicone actually leaves a thin residue on your windshield that causes water to bead - so by using a silicone blade, it is like having a constant application of RainX on your windshield, and 2) Silicone is apparently more durable than rubber. The Silblades claim a 5 year life and PIAA say about 1 year.
I just received my PIAAs in the mail. Interestingly, they come with an application of silicone to wipe on your windshield when you install the blades. This is to give you windshield a pre-coating. I have always used RainX religiously for 15 years so I am very intrigued at this silicone concept.
Silicone blades are not cheap - they run about $20 each. You can get Bosch Micro Edge (probably the popular and best rubber replacement blade) for half that cost.
The cheapest I found the PIAAs was from www.ttstuff.com for $17.99 (A4s use the same size as TTs - 21"). You can get silblades directly from the manufacturer www.silblade.com for $19/ea BUT you have to call them when you order b/c their database shows the A4 using 20" blades - you want 21".

I'll try the >98 first and if that doesn't fit, I'll try the <97. I have a 97 A4. Better yet, I'll just take one of mine off, bring them into the parts dep. and compare them.
