Anyone know what a 1.8 t motor with harness and ECU would cost?

Default Anyone know what a 1.8 t motor with harness and ECU would cost?
Preferably out of the car and crated up??

Contemplating a swap into an 87 4KQ....

why not run a 20v i5 ? it has more potential in that chassis anyway.

Default you can get a new 1.8t for less then $2k if you know where to look...
...that's w/o harness and ecu though.

Default Yep. Tough to find and expensive when you do....
Reportedly, the 1.8t will bolt right up to the 016 tranny in the 4KQ. And since there are a ton of VWs and Audis running them, they should be fairly plentiful. Not so with the AAN or 3B motors.

1.8t bolts up to a 01A and to a 01E but I'm not sure of the 016. Will a 01E bolt up to the 4KQ ?

Default Well if an 01E will bolt up to a 4KQ and a 1.8T will bolt up to a 01E then a 1.8t ought to bolt up
to a 4kq trannie. if it doesn't .. oops!

Default Got a bit ahead of myself...DOH!
Apparently the 1.8T motor will bolt to an 016 tranny in the 4KQ. Not sure if the 01E will mate with the 4KQ running gear, however.
