Default Anyone know what color the R134a is?
I have a very slow leak in my AC systtem and I am trying to spot where it's coming from. Any thoughts would be appreciated. TIA

Default it's colourless
and evaporates instantly at room temp.

Default The a/c guys add purple dye to check for leaks. Otherwise you can't see leaks in the system.
Maybe you can find a mobile a/c guy to check it for you or go to the dealer.

Default Actually, there are many types of dyes used for leak detection
I like the stuff that flouresces under black light.

Default As a matter of fact.....
I helped a friend of mine paint a large sculpture with one and then used big outdoor stage blacklights to illuminated it at a big rave a few years ago. Of course, I was just there as a technical advisor. 8-)
