Anyone know what this sound means?...

When I am in gear and let my foot off the gas to let the car coast (but still in gear) sometimes my car is making this very lout rattling / vibration sound.. anyone know what that means?

Could be a chipped gear... mine whines, not rattle though.

I can't tell... I can only hear it when im driving next to a building / barrier and the sound gets

reflected back..
