anyone R&R camshafts and chain tensioner and chain on an 01?
I have YET ANOTHER camshaft tensioner (not the timing belt one) going on the way out... that is the 3rd time...
since this is the 3rd time I will be replacing this... so I am looking into ways of perhaps changing this time line... so I was going to replace the following...
-timing chain (if cost effective or it is stretched)
-tensioner
-camshaft positioning sensor
-cams... since it is VVT, I am assuming I can't swap them out... but I was thinking of pulling them out, checking their appearance, and then reseating them to ensure that they are in their correctly.
I have had camshaft sensor complaints off and on for a while now... intermittent... rarely enough to throw a CEL, and the dealer has never found anything...
Thoughts? Experiences? How hard is this? DIY or shop?

I don't own a PC... heehee ... I haven't rebuilt my virtual PC since I wiped the machine last week, so I haven't looked it up yet.
I have a chiltons and it is in there too... the job seems pretty doable, but... my concern is related to the things I know little about, top dead center, cam movement, etc... I don't know anything about that, and the last thing I want to do is destroy my engine on the first turn over after reassembly... am I overreacting?
