good point, but..

for those buyers not intererested in chipping, they're getting the shaft pretty bad here.

Guys, maybe this refers to the Euro 1.8t 180hp engine....

...in euro HP, it's 180, after emissions and conversion from DIN to SAE, they show it as 170 here in North America....still the same engine though!

I wouldn't worry about it...

This is what doesn't make sense...

Audi completely ignored the 1.8T in the '02 A4. Everything went into the V6. This is to make the car more profitable. The 1.8T version will be longer, heavier, slower than the present version. Audi, give us a 1.8T, 225HP, 6-speed, aluminum block, 3000lbs, 2-door coupe!

They already do: it's called the TT.

Well, it might be a little heavier. The point is, an exclusive Coupe will always be more expensive. Don't expect a $25k price tag.

my thinking is...

that Audi itself wouldn't want the A4 to have equal hp to the TT. Since the TT (180) is a sports car, Audi may want it to look like it has more HP than the A4 sedan (170).
