Anyone rolling on 235/40/18s?

no pics, but a thought
my a4 1.8T Sport has 235/40 Pirelli P7000s on 18" AEZ Simas-X... the tires are a little too big. most of the time i love them, but if i'm pushing it hard around a corner, especially if there is a dip of any kind the front tires can grind against the wheel wells.
i've been running them for almost 8k miles now and no serious damage has been done yet, but the wheel well liners are starting to get a little frazeled in a couple places.
they do look really badass, and except for the slightly scary grinding in hard corners perform great.
