Default Anyone running a Chip get this DTC: VAG 17963 SAE (P1555) Charge Pressure Upper Limit Exceeded

I got this DTC along with: VAG 16826 SAE (P0442) Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (Small Leak). James R. hooked up a VAG to my car and found these DTC's along with the Low Power DTC, but that's because I pulled the ECU. James commented and said that because I ran the GIAC I am getting the Upper Pressure Limite Exceeded DTC. Why would my chip do this and not others. I am running the latest version GIAC for a 2001.

Anyone know.....?

Default Check all hoses related to your wastegate frequency valve, as well as the valve itself

This is *not* a problem due to the chip programming, no matter what you may have been told.

It takes a lot of boost deviation from what the chip is requesting to get this kind of code.

I *believe* this was the code I got on my '00 Passat that showed the diverter valve was shot. Every time I shifted fast (such as at the drag strip) I would get this. It also occasionally would put me into limp mode. I replaced the diverter valve with a Bailey from AWE (after talking to Mike there) and have not seen the code or been in limp mode. It's been about 3 months now.

Default DV problem described below makes sense...let's say the valve was sticking closed...

...for too long for some reason, then your boost spike during shifts or off throttle situations would be huge since the pressurized air would have nowhere to go!

Yes it sounds like a bad DV or a leak in the vacuum tube to the DV. If the DV doesn't open the boost will spike to very high levels and throw the DTC. This would throw the DTC whether you're running a stock chip, or any aftermarket chip. I don't know why everyone is so quick at pointing fingers at GIAC(Still the best chip IMHO). The high boost might be the cause for the EVAP leak DTC also.

That's what I was thinking about the valve being shot....I speedshift all the time at the strip.
