Default Seriously, it won't be a problem.

The chips are completely separate. The only issues that can arise are if the engine chip does not send all engine data properly to the tip computer, in which case you would likely have issues anyway, independent of putting a tip chip in. A really poorly written chip might do this, but certainly not APR's.

Enjoy!

P.S. If you get both engine and tip at the same time at GIAC, or even a GIAC engine chip first, they will discount the tip chip by $50 or $100 usually, FYI.

Default It's built into the price on AWEs website from what I've seen..

AWE charges $250 for the tip chip. Most other places charge $300. So there's the $50 off.

You get it cheaper from AWE even if you don't buy a GIAC ECU chip. Most likely because AWE is GIAC's largest US distributor.

No, not at AWE. I picked it up at Velocity Sport. Try calling a few other places.

Default Having spoken to APR about this...

I asked APR Brett about this while I was at the BBQ last month. He advised me that APR remaps the shift-points, (but not all the rest of the stuff that the GIAC Tip-Chip does), from their standared ECU software. (They must lie to the tip's control unit somehow, to get this done.) Apparently, they're the only ones that do this.

Brett said that a GIAC Tip-Chip would be a good investment for APR Chip owners if they get a custom one that does everything the standard one does, except change shift points.
