Anyone have a better price, or reason to stay away. Speak now or forever hold your peace. Starting to get my car pieced back together. Also need a used piston, a new head gasket, etc.

I didn't check his feedback but that sounds great! Even the buy it now isn't bad! Good luck. ;-)

I think you should take this opportunity to move to 2 liters

Can you do a cost/benefit analysis?

Don't really need a busted up head in my apt, enough stuff as it is. So I'm ok with the core charge!

Default Cost: A lot (ask CMH) Benefits: 4x whatever it costs

:-)

2 liters would give you less turbo lag, or enable you to run a bigger turbo with the same lag. Plus you'd make more power and torque.

Default However cost is not something I can do right now...

As it stands... I owe:

$1020 to the dealer for the engine teardown/diagnoses.
$800+ for the rental car, since the warranty co. won't cover it.
$600 for a reconditioned head plus shipping back and forth for the core.
$100-250 for a Piston
$65 for a new head gasket
$1000 at least to put the car back together by an independent shop.
_____

$3625 at least. And that is all coming from my parents. Won't they be happy.
