Default anyone use a plain old timer to keep turbo in good condition?

I want to get a timer for my dad's TT so the turbo stays in top condition, but he doesn't want to hardwire a Greddy or anything. So, I'm looking for a black timer with red digits that I can mount in the glove compartment...anyone do anything like this?

Thanks in advance!

Don't know if I'm missed, I can't drive for a week though =( I had a cyst removed, so no Audi. And Dad said I could drive the TT!!!!!

Default so...

you just want a timer, so he can set it, and.. sit there and watch it go down.. then turn the car off?
