Default go to a local motorcycle shop and pick up some plexus.

That will do the least harm. Start there and evaluate the results.

a good cloth is also important to avoid scratching the plastic

Default Pepboy's, small white bottle w/ blue label. I forget the name. I use it on my Wrangler's windows...

I've also used on my head lights and fogs before applying Xpels. I need to do my tail lights again. I've been wanting to use on my insturment cluster to see if it'll take out the swirls that were there from the factory. I think it's "normal", but was never sure if they'd come out.

I have been reluctant to use this stuff because it applies and needs to be removed like IHG or a wax. Thus, it makes a mess. It would take a lot of prep work to put down some towels over the steering wheel area or you'll be picking out the dried out particals for months.

I'll try to look for the stuff tonight and post the name of it.

FYI - Plexus is just a plastic cleaner. It's not a polish like the stuff that I have and use.

For as many scratches as my girl puts in the soft windowns in the Jeep, this stuff does a good job of keeping up with them. Honestly, it's hard not to scratch those windows when you roll them up and store them in the back of the Jeep with the top down. I was taking them off and hanging the up, but we once got caught in the rain and she won't let me live it down and we now keep them in the Jeep...

Also, some paper towels are too abrasive for the soft plastic. I use GrabIts to remove the dust and then a specific microfiber towel and plasic cleaner. Otherwise, you scratch and glass cleaner leaves some of the product behind.
