Anyone's aux fan never turn off?
I don't know how long this has been going on (never paid attention because of the hot summer) but now that it's getting colder I've noticed my aux fan never seems to turn off.
I was driving around in 70degF temps the other day, with the climate control totally OFF, and the fan never stopped.
Now I know that's not normal, at 70degs it shouldn't need the aux fan. Anyway, been checking it out over the last few days, and I've noticed the fan comes on as soon as I start the car, whether I'm using AC or not, and never stops until I take the key out.
Any ideas what's going on?

On my B5 (2.8 V6), the aux fan is not always running. Maybe check if the A/C condenser is very dirty and obstructing the air flow to the radiator. Also, I suppose the coolant temp sensor that turns on and off the aux fan may be defective. I'm not sure, but that temp sensor should be the one on the back of the radiator (bottom, driver's side, on my car). One more thing: make sure the main fan is working properly.
