Bought a used APR Chip with a CH box ECU for an 01.
I am planning to remove my stock ECU which is CH and simply plug in the APR chip/ECU. I have a tiptronic and I don't know if the previous owner has tiptronic or manual.
Question is: Does this APR chip/CH box ECU work for both Tiptronic or Manual? i.e. no additional stock programming software required specific to tiptronic auto or manual transmission.
Secondly, I assume that EMCS is default included in the APR chip ?
Thanks.

and drive really weird. I want to say that it might stall out as well, I had a tip ECU in my manual for a few miles and it held the rpm's longer. You might need to change the soft-coding for ESP as well.

The ECU with the chip matches my stock ECU. P/n 4B0 906 018 CH. I assume one cannot visually tell if the ECU software was tiptronic or manual?

Try it first, if it doesn't work right then worry about changing the coding. I don't know too much about the 01's and they had a few ECU numbers that year, so hopefully someone will chime in. But if you have to, check your stock one first and write down the numbers, put in the new one and make sure they match. I was present but Reggie coded mine so I can't tell you the exact process but from what I remember it wasn't all that involved. Your best option is to post on your local forum to see if anyone with a vag-com will help you out, beer usually motivates.

just plug it in, change the code and youre ready.
it also does have emcs, but it may only have one slot available. you can use a home programmer, buy more slots and load some more programs on.
i wouldnt run the car with the chip installed if the ecu is coded for a manual.
