apr, forge, milltek exhaust questions...
i am in the market for a new exhaust since making a downpipe for my scorpion is not within my funds. $300-400 for just a downpipe is too much for me, and buying a new exhaust that comes with a downpipe will come out cheaper... after i sell my scorpion. so here are my questions about the 3 full exhaust i'm interested in.
which exhaust was having quality control problems... was it forge or milltek? which exhaust was prone to leaking? i assume milltek since i remember reading s4 owners were having problems with leaks, does this apply to the a4 exhaust?
so far this is what i gathered...
apr, forge and milltek all are full stainless steel, manderal bent exhaust that include downpipes. apr is 2.5" forge and milltek have 2.5" downpipes that go to 2.75" piping. does the .25" extra in the forge and milltek make a difference that will be noticable over the apr?
for anyone who has been in a car with a forge, apr and milltek exhaust... how would you rank them based on loudness from inside the cabin and from outside?

Sound+video clips for Milltek
I posted these very recently, so you may have already seen these. FWIW, my friend who was running the camera said it was as quiet from the outside as a stock Accord except when I really pinned it (i.e., in the "hard launch" clip). I'd say that's about right, though IMO the tone is much warmer and deeper, and it manages to go from mellow to aggressive with developing any edges along the way.
As I've mentioned before, it is all but undetectable from inside with the windows closed and the a/c on, and barely detectable with the windows open. Granted, this is with a damping material (Dynamat) and sound-absorbing foam (Dynaliner) on the trunk floor, trunk lid, and under the back seat.
This is with the stock downpipe, since the FWD Milltek from Stratmosphere does not include a downpipe and I have not replaced it. I'd be surprised if a bigger dp made much difference in sound though.

Milltek exhaust drive-by videos
